This is one of my back-burner projects. It's a 1974 Triumph Trident Triple frame that I have loaded up in the van to take to have it media blasted. This frame is covered with rattle-can paint, oil, and grease and has been "modified" sometime in the past. I just wanted to get a clearer idea of what I am dealing with. Truth be told, from what I can see before the blasting, the "mods" that were done to the frame were less than great. Time will tell.
I have a lot of plans for this project, one of which is for it to be my gateway into learning how to weld. I've wanted to learn for years, and this project gives me a good reason to pull the trigger finally. Besides welding, this will force me to learn the ins and outs of motorcycle mechanics and design. The direction that I want to take is a restomod and not restore it to the original specifications. I want to add modern brakes, fork, wheels, lights, signals, etc. It should ultimately be fun to build and to ride. It's going to stay on the back burner for now.
